What They Do

Residential Care & Support

Areyeng offers a safe, structured residential programme for adults who require long-term support due to chronic mental health conditions. Residents live in a community setting where trained staff assist with daily routines, support independence and ensure basic needs are met. Full board and lodging are provided, including three meals a day, cleaning services, and laundry, so residents can focus on wellbeing and stability. Supervised medication and health checks help link each resident’s care to broader healthcare services when needed.

Occupational & Recreational Activities

Areyeng includes activities like arts and crafts, music days, and walking groups to support mental health through engagement and meaningful routines. These programmes encourage social interaction, skill development and improved mood among residents. Occupational therapy features meditation and walking interventions to promote physical as well as emotional wellbeing. Such activities help residents maintain strength, creativity and a sense of purpose within the community.

Medical & Therapeutic Care

Although not a clinical hospital, Areyeng facilitates regular visits to local hospitals for psychiatric treatment and medical care when required. Staff help organise medication collection and supervision so residents stay on track with treatment plans. The residence works with external healthcare professionals to support ongoing health monitoring. This approach ensures continuity of care while maintaining a home-like environment.

Daily Living & Facilities

Residents receive meals, laundry services, and assistance with Personal Protective Equipment as needed. The grounds include communal features such as a garden and opportunities for social braai days.
